Apparently Sen McConnell thinks the Trumpster won't have any coattails to hang onto for Senate hopefuls.
This is becoming a real mess for the GOP.

McConnell is nothing but a RINO that is a disgrace to the party and the people that elected him... He'll never get re-elected again..

McConnell is another career politician that has overstayed their welcome in politics....It's McConnell and others that have created the mess that is known as Washington DC....
As bad as the 'mess' is on the republican side.....the democrats have a candidate that is under investigation for harming the national security of the United States....and they're proud of her 'accomplishments' although no one can ever give an example of those 'accomplishments'....Certainly can't get comments/opinions from those that were left in Benghazi as to her great job as sec of state..... or her astute handling of Libya....

I'd love to know what a REAL REPUBLICAN is if Mich McConnell doesn't fit the description.

He'll be in the Senate until the day he dies if he wants to be. The people in his state don't have the sense to vote for somebody that really cares about their interests. Just like most of the rest of the South. They've been brainwashed for years.

Benghazi/Schmengazi The Republicans have given up on that since Hillary made fools of them in the senate hearings. They're on to the e-mails now, didn't you know?

I agree, but the media will never let the facts about her misdeeds be on the front page nationwide or the prime time media coverage.. It might be on CSPN3 at 2 in the morning one time never to be repeated on the popular networks, in prime time when the majority of the people are awake to view it, or in the morning newspaper.... IF George Bush or Donald Trump did it, it would be prime time wall to wall coverage until he was in prison.. What ever happened to investigative journalism and reporting the news instead of competing with the comedy shows and repeating the same jokes for weeks...

Journalism as you've described has died a long time ago....watching the democrat candidates going on msnbc/cnn and getting softball questions and then 'hugs' from the hosts pretty much explains the state of journalism and reporting....If it had been someone else......remember Valarie Plame?...There was discussion as to whether she was a covert field agent or a desk worker and there were MANY democrats vowing that her outing would lead to VP Cheney and "to the steps of the White House"....There was a media feeding frenzy and they got Scooter Libby on a misdemeanor?....Now there's evidence of what hrc has done and the damage caused.....and the main[lame] stream media won't even mention it....

Don't ya know? Hillary is already POTUS.

The media already has their stories written up to that effect.

I wish I could get away with voting as many times as the Democrat voters do in some places..  Some cities/states had more votes for Obama than there are registered voters..

I can see where localized corruption might be cause for a precinct to vote that way, but an entire city or state??? Not likely, man.

Numerous voting places in OHIO including 1 where a worker admitted voting for Obama 5 times..  It was on the puter a few weeks after the election..  Since it was on the puter, it had to be true..

That was the 'rocket scientist' that went on You Tube bragging about how many times she voted for the cowh.....She was charged and convicted of her stupidity....wonder if she got to keep the cell phone(s)....

I personally know of at least one person who was already dead and still voted for Romney right here in Pensacola.
His wife got the absentee ballot and sent it in for him a couple of years after he was already dead.

My son spent quite a bit of time on Air Force 1, at a few political conventions, and at the White House when Bill Clinton and Both Bush's were the President.. He had nothing but praise for the Bush's and was disgusted with Bill and Hillary.. He said she cusses the military out, has NO respect for the military and treats them worse than crap, even though they were there for security and doing bomb inspections before the Presidents and their families entered the area.. He retired after Bill won his second term, mainly because he was sick and tired of being treated like he was a low class piece of crap.. He was in Air Force EOD and worked quite a bit with the Secret Service.. YES, I respect his opinion of the Presidents he's worked for/with protecting them from harm..

Is anyone surprised?..There have been other secret service agents that have said pretty much the same things that 'jake92' stated....This is the same individual that's now called the parents of those killed in Benghazi 'liars'....The only problem is that their story matches exactly the 'lies' that were told by hrc....rice...and others days/weeks after the murders...she's got no class and no conscience and it proves as throughout her entire political career....if you repeat a lie enough you start to believe it as truth.....

Well, sure. Because at this point even they can see how lunatic the idea of Trump is.

And, Baby, when even the howling lunatic fringe that is now the norm in the Republican Party thinks you're a lunatic, it might be time for the men with the butterfly nets (or firehoses, you pays your money, you takes your chances). Now that the camel is fully in the tent, drooling and biting, they've got no choice, it's stop Trump or vote for Hillary Clinton along with the rest of us (and really, Clinton? Republicans ought to love her for the same reason liberals don't. We can all vote for her, Republican or Democrat, and come off about equally well. But that's a different post).

See, here's the thing: They won't change.

16 years ago, the first time he ran for president, nobody cared about Donald Trump. America thought he was a joke. Republicans wouldn't let him in the front door. Now? 20 years of increasing religious extremism, 8 years of raging insanity and paranoia and conspiracy theories treated as reasoned debate, a decade of letting carnival barkers and talk radio dictate their platform and agenda, of promising to make good on their obsessed baseless vendetta against Obama and Clinton and never being able to deliver, this bizarre myth of guns and small government and gross selfishness, THIS is what groomed the Republican Party for a hostile takeover by a lunatic.

And now, rather than face it, Republican leaders (if that word even applies here) are scheming to jigger the convention instead of owning up to the fact that they themselves must now reap the whirlwind. This is no different than when they demanded Obama resign, because they couldn't figure out how to beat him politically and they couldn't impeach him. This is no different than the current stalemate in Congress over the appointment of a new Supreme Court Judge.

They can't win, so they've decided to cheat.

The reality of the matter is that Trump is at the moment the clear Republican frontrunner and unless the other candidates can beat him at the polls he rightfully deserves the nomination.

The majority of conservatives -- whatever "conservative" means nowadays -- want Donald Trump to be their candidate. If the RNC claims to represent conservatives, then Trump is their candidate.

And they've got nobody, not liberals, not Obama, not anybody, to blame but themselves.

Republicans made a deal with the devil when they got into bed with religious nuts, conspiracy theorists, racists, homophobes, xenophobes, misogynists, the NRA, every nutty extremist organization with the word "family" in the title, the rabid anti-abortion movement, and every barking-mad Obama hater they could find. Did they think there would be no consequences? No cost?

Trump is the bill, and now he's come due.
