| It was recommended to me tonight and I really know very little about it. Will it really lessen the symptoms of the flu? How soon after contracting flu do you need to take it? Is 4 days after too late? And if it's just a real bad cold and not technically the "flu", will it have any effect on that? Also, does anyone recommend antiobiotics when you have the flu (or very bad cold)? So far I'm just toughing it out like I've always done. But if any of that can help I guess I need to get educated about it. | |

It looks like 4 days might be too late but that you should ask your doctor. I have never taken it, but you might find the below article interesting:

I hope you feel better soon.

| Bob, if it is the flu, or if your malady is of viral origin, antibiotics are a waste. They won't do anything, although doctors prescribe it because patients want some kind of medicine from their visit.
I suspect Tamiflu should be taken early in the course of an infection... 4 days into the "flu" is probably too late.

| Thanks, dudes, for the info. I'll probably just tough it out. When I woke up this morning I do feel a little better than I did last night. Just hope to get over it by Christmas Eve because I've got my girlfriend's brother and his son coming to stay with me Thursday. Ya'll have a Merry Christmas. | |

| I recommend whiskey... crown preferably. Take a shot every half hour until you pass out. The next morning the hang over should eclipse the flu symptoms. Repeat until whiskey or flu are gone. | |
