 Lesson from Venezuela?...... Empty
PostSubject: Lesson from Venezuela?......    Lesson from Venezuela?...... EmptyMon Dec 07, 2015 6:56 am

After 19 years of socialism...the congressional elections lead to landslide size defeats of socialism by the opposition party....So has Venezuela realized that socialism isn't the answer?....Sean Penn must be heartbroken....

In the United States election on the democrat side....there is an admitted proud socialist running and hrc who is attempting to move further left than Bernie....Both have proposed more freebies from the government and of course neither has been challenged and/or asked how these future entitlements will be paid...

There is only ONE way to pay for entitlements, higher taxes. Punish those who work and pay those who don't. Man I love a parade........

lol! That's why it's amusing to hear some that say they are leaning to supporting Bernie....If we're broke/in debt now how much further can we sink?....There is a much smaller working middle class an that rock can't be squeezed much more....Eventually the freeloaders are going to have to face a harsh reality and can you imagine their reactions....so in a way guess a vote for Bernie secures their entitlement mentality....

There IS another way, Nochain.  How about curtailing spending on wasteful military spending, for one?  Do we really need the trillion dollar F-35 that apparently is a dog?

Do we really need to fight so many wars where we never win... only to spend trillions of dollars where thousands of our men and women are killed and maimed?

We don't need to make fat(ter) cats out of the MIC.

Agree with you on that....look at all the projects that the military have said they didn't want and yet the money is continued to be spent....The F35 as mentioned and the Army bitched and bitched about not wanting a billion dollar tank project but once again government knew better....

The government will authorize spending for a contract......take in bids.....accept the best bid....and then when the winning corporation finds out they can't complete the project at their bid cost....the government pays!...With that business practice is there any wonder about our financial stupidity....But, the bottom line no matter the department...government is horrible at spending and or controlling costs...which is why it's beyond logic that there are voters that want to continue to expand government and their influence---and yes it happens in both parties and that's why it's a DECADES old mess....

I've even written to the Navy Times LTE about what a waste the F-35 program is - for crying out loud each pilots helmet has to be custom made and costs over $400,000. The Littoral Combat Ship, the Zumwalt destroyer (just went to sea but doesn't have the majority of its systems ready), the Ford class carrier that is being built BEFORE the technology designs it will use have been built and proven, the Air Force getting millions to start developing a new bomber, the list is endless for wasteful defense spending. Of course the waste in entitlement programs is just as bad - overlapping programs, waste/fraud/abuse in welfare/food stamps and especially medicare/medicaid spending is off the charts. Tax cheats that the IRS can't catch because they are incompetent. Sometimes I think there isn't anyone is charge of this government.......
