Ex NYPD Cop Admits ‘We Planted Evidence, Framed Innocent People’ All For Arrest Quotas

It’s not your imagination: the New York Police Department has been planing evidence and framing innocent people all in order to meet arrest quotes.

This comes as an a former New York City narcotics detective, Stephen Anderson, testified in court that the NYPD routinely plants drugs on innocent people. He described this as a “common practice,” a “quick and easy” way for officers to reach arrest quotas.

Unfortunately, this is not news.

Some cops have been known to save a coke packet or two from a bust to use if the "need" arises to achieve a conviction on a subsequent bust.

And plant guns are carried by SOME unscrupulous cops as well. That way, they can say they were "in fear for their lives" from the armed suspect who was the recipient of a magazine of bullets.

Convicted felons have been known to carry weapons, sell drugs, commit rape robberies, murder people, and lie. There are obviously some dirty cops too - but the percentage is so small I find it interesting why so much attention is focused on them and not on a broken CJS where felons serve fractions of their sentence and immediately commit more crimes after release.

The CJS has shot themselves in the foot by convicting innocent folks... evidence is sometimes suppressed... evidence that would exonerate the accused, and it seems that it makes news when a prosecutor actually agrees that a convicted person is really innocent when new evidence surfaces.

It seems that prosecutors are ONLY interested in getting reelected or reappointed and must have a high conviction rate... come hell or high water.

The way we hire our prosecutors needs to change. There is too high of an incentive to gain a conviction at all costs.

The cop was busted for it and fired. As he should have been. Apparently "flaking" was not an approved activity......

I hope the NYPD actions are not the norm for all LEO agencies.

If we had a smaller prison population, perhaps there would be room to incarcerate the bad guys for the length of their sentences. Letting murderers, rapists, and violent offenders out when they serve a small fraction of their sentences, really irks me.

Putting people into a prison factory for ingesting a weed irks me. It is profitable though....slave labor.
