Once upon a time the government had a vast scrap yard in the middle of a desert.

Congress said, “Someone may steal from it at night.” So they created a night watchman position and hired a person for the job.

Then Congress said, “How does the watchman do his job without instruction?”

So they created a planning department and hired two people, one person to write the instructions, and one person to do time studies.

Then Congress said, “How will we know the night watchman is doing the tasks correctly?” So they created a Quality Control department and hired two people, one to do the studies and one to write the reports.

Then Congress said, “How are these people going to get paid?” So They created the following positions, a time keeper, and a payroll officer, then hired two people.

Then Congress said, “Who will be accountable for all of these people?” So they created an administrative section and hired three people, an Administrative Officer, Assistant Administrative Officer, and a Legal Secretary.

Then Congress said, “We have had this command in operation for one Year and we are $18,000 over budget, we must cutback overall cost.” So they laid off the night watchman.

Many of the positions created during the 2nd world war are still manned and of course have grown with each conflict...requiring more conflicts to be justified....remember WACO...someone in congress suggested the BATF had no real purpose and might be cut and their duties given to other agencies..so the WACO slaughter  was created to show congress they were needed.

I've been startled by the growing number of govt agencies that have tactical/swat teams. It's over seventy now... with several as ridiculous as the dept of education. We're heading a direction... no matter how that is denied, rationalized, or ignored.

Yeah student loans and overdue library books must be accounted for.....

It is pretty damn obvious that we are evolving into a militaristic state.

What can we do to change this shit?

Posting our concerns here isn't going to have any effect.  Are there any grass-roots organizations that have a chance of changing the status quo?  

Do we just arm ourselves with enough firearms and ammo to fend off the wackos that want to deny us our freedoms, or do we do something about it within the system somehow? Mr. CIA/FBI/NSA, I don't advocate armed resistance, but dammit, our freedoms are being taken away from us and the general populace is just allowing it to happen.

This shit has got to stop.
