| The Daily Beast isn't too complimentary. http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/03/22/the-truth-behind-ted-cruz-s-lies.html - Quote :
- ...“There are 110,000 agents at the IRS. We need to put a padlock on that building and take every one of those 110,000 agents and put them on our southern border.” There are not 110,000 agents at the IRS. There aren’t even that many employees. There are about 82,000, of whom about 14,000 are agents...
... “What astonished me, then and now, was Heidi within 60 seconds said, ‘Absolutely,’ with no hesitation,” said Mr. Cruz, who invested about $1.2 million—“which is all we had saved,” he added—into his campaign.
Heidi Cruz herself recalls the conversation differently. There was no movie-friendly smash cut “absolutely,” or even assent. Rather, she told Politico, she “wanted him to raise money from elsewhere first, to show that the support was out there.” And even then, “She proposed that they not put their own cash into the campaign unless it made the difference between winning and losing.” That’s sort of the opposite of an instantaneous absolutely: a hesitant and conditional maybe...
...Cruz, after all, is a “top-tier” candidate mostly in terms of name recognition. While he’s an extremely popular speaker at base-flaming events such as CPAC (where he finished third in the easily gamed Straw Poll), wider swaths of GOP voters are not as kind. Even among the notoriously conservative Republican Iowa caucus-goers he’s in single digits. In the even narrower category of self-identified Iowa Tea Partiers, he has only 10 percent of the vote, trailing Ben Carson (11 percent), Rand Paul (15 percent) and flavor of the month Scott Walker (33 percent)...

| I try not to think about him. He may have some decent qualities but I see him as too divisive and we have had enough of that with Oblamer. | |

| Candidates with "$1.2 million which is all we had saved?" Wow...what's this guy's business/salary and investments? Old money?
Also, he makes his announcement at Liberty University - staunch conservative Christian university. Is that an appeal to all? Or does he set himself up as divisive already?

Sen. Cruz spoke of: Admiration of the signers of the Declaration of Independence...... Admiration of Sam Adams "Give me liberty of give me death" quote.... Believes in the Constitution Dismantling of the IRS---Implementation of a Flat Tax System Support of the Second Amendment Repealing of [name] cowh healthcare by boosting Medicare Services and actually reforming to make healthcare more available....more portable and more affordable.... Actually believes in a smaller more efficient government and creating an economic environment to put people to work... Said that he supports efforts to become more energy independent.... Added that he believes the Government has been too intrusive into citizens lives... So yes of course he is and has been labeled as a 'radical' by the mainstream media...These areas listed have made the mainstream media call him 'scary'....Whether he is nominated and/or the messenger...look at what is now seen as 'radical'...After six plus years of this administration the media still can't recognize radical?.....The only candidate that the media will support and fall into step with is hrc and that would indeed continue the radicalism of this administration....

| They think that Ted Cruz is a "radical"?? lol Gimme a break. Someone needs a dictionary. "Give me liberty or give me death!" was actually attributed to Patrick Henry, probably erroneously at that, but he is who is historically credited for those famous words. Samuel Adams is credited with brewing a fine Cream Stout that I have not been able to find since I moved to Alaska. | |

His seasonal brews are pretty good too.....Didn't really notice when we visited several years ago but does Alaska have a lot of local breweries?... It's funny that some attempt to question Cruz's support on other amendments and yet so many have sat on their hands and allowed this administration to trample all over the Constitution and citizen's rights...Example:...the Supreme Court having to rule on key components of [name] cowh healthcare being constitutional....

Yes, per capita we do have a lot of local breweries. I was just out at one of them tonight and enjoyed a pretty good -40 Stout out at Silver Gulch. There are two other local stouts that I like a lot better, the Denali Brewery Chuli Stout and the Hoodoo Stout, which is our only true microbrewery http://www.hoodoobrew.com/on-tap/ The other "locals" are only local in the sense that they're Alaskan, but up here, that is close enough. The Hoodoo Stout is superb... truly excellent.
