He's a strange one, no doubt about that. His other recent gaffe about knowing "many Somalian" cab drivers when other cabbies in the area said they didn't even know of any........

High entertainment value.....but the lady doesn't look entertained....

He needs a visit with human resources. Cue the personal space video...

Amazing that with all his racial gaffes (no English in convnience stores because they are being run by Indians) and none have ever had the same consequences that others would have faced...

Aren't he and some other Dems always accusing Republicans of not respecting women....poor lady hope she sterilized her shoulders....whatta creep....

I don't see any of those women complaining about it.
On the contrary, they're almost all smiling.

He's not grabbing private parts. I don't see anything creepy about it.

Joe Biden raised his kids as a single parent after his wife's death and from most reports he's a straight up guy.
Don't like his politics? Complain about that.


As far as not respecting women, he's not the one who divorced his wife while she was dying of cancer.

Biden has a history of inappropriate "touching" and invasion of personal space. He's lucky he's a democrat novelty item otherwise he would be pilloried in the biased press.

Apply his actions to any situation in a work area and even if the females involved didn't complain anyone that may have felt uncomfortable would or should...Correct he gets a free pass on this and his racial comments because he's a democrat...it's not a reflection on him alone it's the incompetence of today's standards of journalism and their biased behavior when holding individuals to a different standard based on political affiliations....

The point was missed....this is no different when the democrats have accused republicans of the 'war on women' and being disrespectful of women. The chairperson of the DNC (Wasserman-Schultz) said that Scott Walker and others (republicans) give a 'backhand' to women and don't care or see it as wrong.....There was no evidence ever to back up the foolish allegations but that didn't stop the media from furthering the untruths...Lastly....don't know how Newt Gingrich entered into the conversation (way to keep it current) and further don't remember anyone defending his actions but understand the deflecting tactic....

Biden disgusts me. He campaigned on sympathy lies regarding his dead wife. He stated many times his wife was killed by a drunk truck driver that decided to "drink his lunch". His wife ran a red light and was broad-sided by a man that was not drunk nor drinking.

   Nah....he's a "straight up guy" that didn't grope any private parts so that's permissable?..Is that a new standard for this?..... Those that are critical are told to only attack his politics....now there's some bs!...

   Glad to hear from a female perspective on this matter (not that males shouldn't be equally disgusted) although it's perplexing that some will do exactly as the media does and just gives him a free pass because he's a democrat....Once again the rules/laws that are put out for the regular folks on how to conduct themselves aren't the same for those supposed to be on a higher level that make those laws?....Yeah good ole'Joe....boys will be boys....

When any woman complains that Joe Biden is a masher, let me know. In 6 of those 8 pictures the women are grinning from ear to ear. He obviously said something to them that made them smile.  In one, there's a demure smile, but still a smile. The only one not smiling is the young girl and Biden has his left hand on the top of her arm. He is tall and is leaning down to say something to her. Tall people do that sometimes. Surprise!!
All the spin this forum can put out isn't going to get Joe Biden labelled a masher. No one has ever made that complaint against him.


BTW, I have no problem with someone of the opposite sex putting his or her hands  on the shoulders of either me or my spouse. We both take it as a compliment, as a sign of close friendship, or whatever. I like other people to feel free enough around me to touch my arm or shoulder and  I'm certainly  not sexually intimidated by such a small gesture. Those are some powerful women in those pictures and I doubt they were sexually intimidated either. Most of them were smiling. Seven out of eight.

Whatever. I'm sure you ladies think you know better than me. I used to have a boss who was a toucher. He would put his hand around  the shoulder of every lady who worked with him and would pat guys on the back. Nobody thought anything of it because he was a "toucher."  All I ever heard any of the ladies say was that he was the best smelling man they had ever met in their lives. And he was not a handsome dude either, just very ordinary but very friendly. No women ever complained.  He was the best boss I ever had and probably the best they'd ever had too. His funeral was SRO. Probably more women than men.
Claiming somebody is creepy for a touch on the shoulder seems paranoid and defensive to me, but that's just my opinion. And like I said, when somebody complains about Joe Biden harassing them, let me know.
Until then, I'll take the opinions expressed and filter them with the knowledge I have of the political beliefs involved. It seems like a lot of political correctness police are storming this thread to me.

2010, my job was to compile workplace policy, write, and edit a personnel handbook for a new business. Men and women employees.

Everyone was nice. All had a good handle on proper respect in the workplace - but - I had to make sure the company was protected, not held liable, for harassment. We had strict policy on "personal space."

It was not about political correctness. It was about liability. It was coupled with doing the right thing. It was a place of business.

I don't see the VP engaging in any business in those pictures. They look like formal occasions of celebration of some sort.
Workplace rules are extremely important. I agree with that.
I don't think "workplace rules" apply to any of those pictures. Those are some powerful women in that group. Exactly what is Joe Biden going to do to HRC if she objects to his hands being put on her shoulders? It's obvious to me that whatever he is saying to most of these ladies is cracking them up. Biden is known for being a jokester. I don't think any of them are feeling any pain.
I just think this is all nit-picking as far as the pictures go. Now as far as Biden's hoof-in-mouth disease, that's an absolute fact that he might well be criticized for. But groping? I don't think so. I won't argue it anymore though because I honestly think this has more to do with politics than it does with harassment.
