Brian Williams Story about his chopper being hit by an RPG. The story has been around for 3 years, but now military men are coming forth and complaining that it's all a lie. According to CNN, the guys who are complaining were in another convoy of choppers going a different direction from the one Williams was in, and say they were hit by an RPG but not the chopper Williams was traveling in. They said Williams chopper was an hour behind them. Now the pilot of the chopper that Williams was in was saying that they were, in fact, hit by small arms fire during the flight, and there's some confusion about which group of choppers Williams was even talking about. They call it the fog of war, but the truth is that the vets must have suddenly realized that Williams is a buddy of Jon Stewarts ans want to accuse him of being a cowardly liar. I don't know the circumstances of that day or whether Williams lied or not. He says he got it wrong and apologized, and that's enough for me. But the fact is that if this guy were a Reopublican representative in Congress, I doubt the story would have ever been questioned. It's also my opinion that no newsman, be he Republican or Democrat, who flies over an active war zone is a coward. There have been hundreds of newsmen killed in war zones throughout history, and the only difference in them and a "REAL SOLDIER" is they don't have a gun to protect themselves with.
Here's the second story out today- the 28 pages that were redacted from the report on 911 that survivors of the event are trying desperately to have released. The News Media says these pages contain the FACT that the Saudi Government was supporting Al Qaida well before 911, something that we've all suspected for a long time. Why is this coming out? Jeb Bush is running for POTUS and it was his brother who spirited the Saudi Family out of this country while the ashes of the twin towers were still smoldering. This is being pushed by the Dems to embarrass the Bush Family (of course, I think they need embarrassing too because I'm a dem) but coupled with the other story of the day, it's so easy to see that nearly everything in our news media is driven by one agenda or the other.
Oh, for the days of Walter Cronkite when news was the events of the day without all the talking heads. It would be so nice to be left to form our own opinions for a change. That will never happen again though and it's sad.
