After the shutdown was partially blamed on him, you would think he would lay low... but NOOOO... he wanted to score some political points by trying to force a vote against Obama's Immigration amnesty and, in doing so, he opened up the Senate Dems to move forward on long-stalled Obama nominees.   (Nominees for Surgeon General, the head of the country's chief immigration enforcement agency, and twelve federal judgeships — who Republican senators have been blocking. But now, Reid can schedule votes that will have the time to ripen by the beginning of the week. At this rate, they'll be able to start voting for cloture on the nominees on Monday.)

If he wanted to run for Pres in '16 (and he does), he surely isn't making any points with his cohorts.  https://news.yahoo.com/ted-cruzs-moves-spending-bill-roil-republicans-130456181.html

Quote :
One colleague called the tactics of tea party-backed Sen. Ted Cruz on the $1.1 trillion spending bill a painful echo of last year's 16-day partial government shutdown.

And that sniping came from Cruz's fellow Republicans.

The 43-year-old Texas freshman in a political hurry — he's considering a 2016 presidential run — infuriated several GOP colleagues with a last-minute attempt to force a vote on President Barack Obama's executive actions on immigration.

If this Senate does ANYTHING in the last weeks it would be more than they've done in years!... If Cruz or any other republican does something to embarrass this bunch of do nothing politicians [both sides] then so be it....may not be politically smart but sometimes red faces are needed...and the add on costs to this budget should have the entire congress red faced with shame...
