Let’s see if they repeal Obama care… They won’t.
Let’s see if they put a limit on the “executive power” of the president… They won’t.
Let’s see if they put an end to the unconstitutional patriot act… They won’t.
Let’s see if they put an end to the unconstitutional  NDAA… They won’t.
Let’s see if they put an end to the unconstitutional spying on American Citizens without the due process of law… They won’t.
Let’s see if they stop attempting to dictate the policies and affairs of every other country in the world… They won’t.
Let’s see if they strengthen the  Fourth Amendment… They won’t.
Let’s see if they cut government spending and waste… They won’t.
Let’s see if they audit the Federal Reserve… They won’t.
Let’s see it they stop acting as policeman for the world. They won’t.

Just keep those campaign contributions coming in. We'll keep funding your "entitlements".

Then you must be sad to see Dirty Harry not being the Senate Majority Leaders....over 300 pieces of legislation died on his desk without even allowing any discussion whatsoever to see if there was any that could have been passed...Now it will be the same tactic only a different desk....

Will it be time for those minority congressmen to dust off the filibuster?

Yeah, I seem to remember discussion about changing filibuster rules, but don't remember the particulars.

Makes it very difficult or near impossible now... This was the work of soon to be former senate majority leader 'dirty' harry reid..... Think it was done after the Rand Paul filibuster and that had to do with the NSA surveillance and individual citizens' rights...

I don't see how anyone could respect the populace less than the Democrats have.

You have a good point ....The Democrats disrespect the populace in stealth mode. The old blue blood Republicans honestly openly despise the riffraff populace.

Lets give them a chance and see how things are in 6 months, AFTER the new ones have been in office a few months and had a little time to actually work instead of campaign and find every little thing they could against the other party.. Lets also see how the media reports things without the dems in charge......

Yes, what wasn't important before now will be headline news. Not that the media is biased or anything........

When bills are passed by the House and Senate the burden will then go to the Oval Office to let it die...veto...or send back to negotiate...if it's negotiate then the cowh will be forced to enlighten with his vision and actually have to lead...No more Dirty Harry to protect him....

The only thing dems changed about the filibuster had to do with presidential appointments. The filibuster itself is still alive and well and the dems will use it over and over during the next 2 years, just like Republicans have taken advantage of it in the past.
It is not mentioned anywhere in the US Constitution and should be done away with.

The topic of the thread is right on though. Republicans do respect voters less than Democrats and that's why they've gerrymandered so many districts to go their way. They know that in a presidential election cycle they don't have much chance anymore of winning the White House so they concentrate on Congressional districts instead. They've been very successful at it, that's for sure.

Republicans will pass legislation, Obama will veto it, Republicans don't have enough votes to overcome his veto.
Things won't change.
The only difference will be if some Supreme Court member retires or dies. I doubt that will happen. They remind me of the zombies on Walking Dead. They just never go away and are always a nuisance.
Two years from now the news media will be declaring the Republicans dead just like they're calling the dems dead now.
But nothing will change.
I'm bored to death with politics.

By the way, I'm a democrat and you are right, I don't respect the populace. When such a small percentage of them come out and vote there's no way to respect them anymore. We got this lousy government because people didn't vote and now even less people are voting because it's so bad.

The American people don't deserve the respect of either party because they DON'T VOTE.

I don't respect politicians who are elected by the numbers that elected those people on Tuesday. I don't for a minute think them being in Washington is the will of the American people.

So are you saying Democrats are going to be the so-called "Party of No" presided over by the President 0f No? If so how are they any different from Republicans based on what the R's were accused of the past few years?

Judging by the fact that all Republican are interested in is repealing Obamacare, I sure do hope the Dems are the party of "NO" over the next two years. My sister has Obamacare, my son has Obamacare, my next door neighbor's daughter has Obamacare, and all of them think it's just wonderful. My neighbor's daughter has an immune system disorder and could get no insurance at all until the ACA outlawed the pre-existing conditions the insurance companies were using against her. My sister is 58 and has health problems galore and her employer dropped their insurance care. Not because of Obamacare but because business was slumping. The only way she could have ever gotten insurance again was through Obamacare. She's a Republican and so is my neighbor's daughter, but they both appreciate what they got from Obama. Yeah, I hope the dems are the party of NO for the next two years. Just exactly like the Republicans have been the last 4. The difference is that they will be saying NO to bad ideas instead of to  insurance coverage that helps people who can get it no other way.

Health care reform has been a long time coming however the ACA is a monstrosity shoved down the throats of the citizenry by a single party without regard for consequences. It's too complex and expensive, the program is not meeting artificial self-funding goals and will be an even bigger drag on the economy and those on fixed incomes in the near future. The bean brains in Congress who crafted this white elephant should have simply expanded Medicare to include unisurables or those who couldn't afford private health insurance based on a relaxed income standard. But no, the Gang of Three had to build a unicorn so they could crow about their "achievement".

Of course it's requirements were carefully modulated to mature based on election cycles and those who are most responsible for the problems will not be in office when the cheese starts to smell.

Great job Comrades.

If it's so great, WHY did the politicians that crafted it exempt themselves and their families???
