Washington Times Navy Survey Released..... Empty

Sailors---"widespread mistrust" in Admirals that command them...poor leadership and a disciplinary environment that tolerates absolutely no mistakes in a survey of the fleet.

Most troubling is the perception sailors have of senior leadership which was found to be " a widespread distrust of senior leadership". Survey was released amid complaints of some about excessive political correctness as the Navy seeks to stomp out sexual harassment and misconduct.

Sailors further voiced complaints about deployments that have been stretched up to nine months. Also, with the cutbacks the talk is that deployments may be extended up to one year.

When asked whether they agree that the Navy operates a risk-averse culture....90% of Officers answered--"Yes"...

Wonder if these numbers and complaints are similar in other branches of the service?.... Social experimentation and extreme political correctness are beginning to have a negative effect....

To make Admiral now you have to be a squeaky clean political yes man. Used to be Admirals would stick up for their troops, not anymore. I imagine all services have the same problems. The Navy is stretched to the breaking point and it will only get worse as more ships are decommissioned and promotion opportunities go away. I'm glad I retired when I did - I wouldn't want any part of today's Navy.

The difference in the military today as opposed to say 10-15 or further years ago is unbelievable!... There were a group of Chief Selectees having a fundraising carwash...this is now about the closest thing that can be done since initiations are also a thing of the past....Noticed there were three military members in different color of t-Shirts and these three would actually go around periodically and ask...Have you been asked to do anything that makes you uncomfortable or disrespected?...Has anyone harassed or been demeaning?.... This is now what the military has come to and if someone had felt uncomfortable etc., there's a great chance that complaint could be a career ender....You are correct would have never survived in this type of atmosphere...

I respected and would have followed my commander into any fight. He was a very brave and intelligent man. The officers under him were excellent for the most part. I never agreed with the war we fought in but had America actually been attacked or needed defending our officers had our full support and would have completed the mission admirably..

Correct....Leadership!.... Recently it's been the TOP of the military structure that's been the problem...it's no wonder there's distrust from those serving under them...Reminds me of this administration...

Seems to me lot of high up leaders have gotten the sack from Obama. That and having to deal with this admin has got to be enough to make some paranoid.
