All former strays. I take pleasure in their living better lives than the people who dumped them. Every day I go to work I remind them that I am off to support their lavish lifestyle of entitlement living:

I'll bet that the one on the top step is the smartest one. Kinda looks like an Australian Shepherd.

I have a friend out at Innerarity Point that had a dog like that and I swear the dog was smarter than he was.

Eric, I rescued her from the wreckage after Katrina in Waveland, MS where they experienced a 20 ft. plus surge. She is part border collie and part whippet making her insanely energetic, ready to work and YES, smarter than a lot of people i know, lololol.

The yellow mix was rescued from a highway median in TN and the beagle rescued in the most frigid of winters in Kansas, living outdoors and being fed once a week when the owners would dump a bag of dog food in a baby pool. They did the same with is water.

When he escaped and I took him in after he roamed into the local elementary school, several people called and begged me not to advertise him recounting the same story of his neglect. I was told that after a freezing snow night in which he had bayed through the cold hours, a kid opened the gate and set him free thinking it was a kindness.

Surfs, my guys are all rescues, too. There's a story behind both of my pit bulls that many have already heard, so I won't go into it again. It will have to suffice for me to say their prior owner was convicted of animal abuse and neglect.

I'm lucky to have just one cat since I married a man who was absolutely NOT going to have any animals in the house. Our daughter one day said, "Daddy, can I have this parakeet? Mom said it's okay if you say yes." What I actually told her was to asks her dad because I was certain he would say no. He said yes and it opened the flood gates. Over the next few years, we had birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, more birds, tarantulas, Emperor Scorpions, more rabbits, hermit crabs, and still more birds. When she moved out, she started taking in rescue animals. She now has 4 cats and 2 dogs, all rescued. I have one cat, also one that she rescued. Hubby still says no to dogs in our home so I get my dog fix by visiting her.

I married a man who loves to rescue animals just as much as I do. Our house is a veritable zoo. Neither of us would have it any other way.

We were a little worried about bringing the pit bull pups into our home because we also have a seven pound peekapoo. We thought we would have to keep them separate. WRONG - my female pit Molly's best bud is our peekapoo, Mikey. They are both lying at my feet as I type. sunny
