Can you make it?

I want to host a BBQ baby back ribs party for all forum members.  Is the Labor Day weekend (not this weekend, but the next) a good Saturday to have y'all over for the best ribs in Pensacola?  We usually sit out back on the porch, listen to music and enjoy beverages.  

So, do y'all have plans for that Saturday and would you come?  

Send me a PMs if you can make it or prefer another Saturday. Of course, significant others are invited as well.

I plan to cook them in the convection steamer called an Orion Cooker.  This picture shows 9 racks of babybacks demembraned and rubbed, and trussed up for cooking, prior to lighting the coals.  This cooker will make them falling-apart tender, but they need more flavor





then I put them in the grill and burn firewood-sized hickory in a separate chamber to smoke 'em up and also firm out the outside with some smokey 'bark'.  These need more smokin'

oh wow. I wanna drive all the way there for those. I am so envious.

You bet but one of you all is gonna have to ride in the back of my truck. I took out the crappy stock 60/40 seats, retro-ed the mounting brackets and installed leather lumbar seats out of an '06 Sequoia.

Yes, thanks Teo, that might have been a bit dramatic. I'm staying at the beach until renters come in next week. First time I've stayed here in 10 years! My home is having work done.

Yup, Joani. A very good reason clods should not have small dogs. Hanna got under my legs and it was a matter of smushing her or taking a dive. Geez our bones get brittle with glorious age!

It sounds like the carpool with Riceme and Pkr would be a riot!

Be sure and tell us all about it, Eric. You're a good man!

Yeah. That and a 7200 mile round trip drive. I'll swing through Michigan and pick up The Dude.

I understand not coming if it's a long drive.. I made trips to NJ for family parties, but families are different....
