3 Million Dollar Golf Trips!

"President Obama’s trips this year to the golfing playgrounds of Palm Springs and Key Largo cost taxpayers nearly $3 million for flight expenses alone, according to Air Force records.

The activist group Judicial Watch said the trips in February and March cost $2,952,278 for flight expenses of Air Force One.

Mr. Obama combined his trip to Palm Springs with an event to highlight California’s severe drought. Critics noted he spent the rest of the weekend golfing on exclusive courses in the desert that use about 1 million gallons of water per day to keep them green.

During March 7-9, the First Family spent Spring Break at the exclusive Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, Fla., where members must have a minimum net worth of $35 million to join. Other expenses of that trip have not been made public.

“It is clear that the Obamas continually abuse the perks of the president’s office at taxpayer expense,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “And it is particularly interesting that Obama has chosen to take not one but two luxury vacations back-to-back while inveighing against ‘income equality.’ President Obama’s waste of the hard-earned tax dollars of working Americans on unnecessary luxury travel is an abuse of office.”

According to records obtained by Judicial Watch, through Freedom of Information Act requests and lawsuits, the Obamas and Vice President Joseph R. Biden and wife Jill have spent more than $40 million taxpayer dollars on trips since 2009.

I'm sure the Dems on the forum will find where BOTH Bush's spent a lot more money on vacations..

My son was USAF EOD who spent time on AF1 and at the white house and many other places with the past 4 presidents and says the Obama's are the rudest most inconsiderate people he has ever met.. He retired rather than stay at the job 1 more day..

There was complaining when he went to Camp David!....The article mentions his trips to Africa ("little spending spree") but now years removed from office the former president has been applauded for his AIDS work in Africa and those involved have said that he did more than any other president for that cause....The last sentence...'apparently cost on matters when [name] cowh is the president who is doing the traveling'....pretty much sums up the agenda of that article...

Camp David and his Texas ranch were both a LOT less expensive than the Obama childrens party in Mexico......

They pay some personal expenses if the trip is considered "personal". All other expenses (AF One, security, housing, cargo plane for vehicles, etc. - which by the way are the largest cost drivers) are paid by taxpayers. Somehow most politicians manage to mix in some bogus official activity to lighten the load on their wallet, that magic trick isn't confined the BHO. However the extravagant vacations by Moochelle and her kids (and their friends in some cases) cost the taxpayers an enormous amount of money.

Obama's Christmas vacations have cost taxpayers over $20 million. The Obama's do not pay for their staff and Secret Service expenses and certainly not most of their own expenses.....
