| in her bid for Congress and this is in the Tampa area where the cowh had strong numbers. As one pundit stated this is not going to be a good election cycle for incumbants and especially those that supported/voted for [name] cowh healthcare. | |

| Anyone holding office needs to be sent home with their tail tucked......Sink was just another member of the "club" in old Florida politics along with her crooked husband. Glad she "sank" in this special election. | |

And it should send a message to governor candidate crist as he's still backing the current healthcare claiming it will benefit the citizens of Florida. As its been stated several times you would think that there would be something better than recycled candidates to select from.

| I agree that we need fresh people who will LISTEN to the taxpayers that elect them, NOT the lazy benefit grabbers that NEVER earned them or the illegal aliens that never pay taxes.. | |

Sadly there are far too many that will retire or be voted out that have already lined their pockets instead of upholding their constitutional duties.

You think so? I think our next governor will be Charlie Crist. Of course, you said it won't be a good year for incumbents. But Crist does not oppose Obamacare. I really don't have any doubt about him being elected. |

I really don't have any doubt about him being elected. Don't read a whole lot into this special election but Ms Sink was popular with Rep Pelsoi and both parties pumped millions of dollars into this campaign. It will be interesting in some national Senate/House races to see the impact of candidates that supported [name] cowh healthcare and especially here with crist continuing his support. Not a fan of Crist and don't read that to be an enthusiastic endorsement of the incumbant. This will be another in the long series of holding of noses and/or voting for the lesser of two evils. In general, hope that ALL incumbants are grilled by the voters and have to explain their actions or inactions on issues. With the approval rate of congress there should be no one that should feel safe.

| I don't think Jolly's election means a thing as far as the coming elections in November are concerned. There already was a Republican in that spot so he didn't increase their numbers in Congress. Obama barely won that district in a large general election so it's no surprise that it trended Republican with a much smaller turnout special election.
What will happen in November will depend on turnout. If there's a large turnout and there generally is not in off year elections, Dems will win. A small turnout generally goes to Republicans who are always angry and therefore go to the polls more often than Dems do.
That's pretty much the trend of recent years. Having said all that, I do not believe Rick Scott will be reelected no matter what the turnout is. He is not one of our more beloved governors. |

Another example is in North Carolina with incumbant Sen Kay Hagen. A few months ago she had a huge lead and no real opposition then came the problems with the enrollment etc., and polls started finding that un-named opponents were suddenly tied with the senator. A week ago the senator was at a campaign stop and just flat out refused to answer a reporters question about [name] cowh healthcare...and now she is trailing in the polls. Same thing in Louisiana and other states where congressional representatives are/or have supported the healthcare legislation. You are correct about the voter turnout but in this case it will be the opposition [those angry] that will be more motivated to turnout. As far as our governor's race it's going to be a stinker and the citizens of Florida are going to be shortchanged by either scott or crist.
