Agree...but we have an obligation to the women of Afghanistan to make sure there is a multi international force to fill the vacuum of our leaving if not there will be mass murder...maybe even scorch the poppy fields on the way out...

There really isn't a solution to that cess pool unless the Afghan people decide to stand up for themselves. Look at Iraq - more bombings and sectarian violence - that's just the way those idiots are! There is a reason the only "stable" governments over there are oppressive ones, the people seem incapable of compromise on their own.

With the reluctance of Karzai to be a leader then the issue becomes clear and the US should leave and if NATO or the UN stands aside...then that will allow Karzai to 'negotiate' and deal with the Taliban....

To be honest....fair and balanced so to speak....we have a long history of errors and economical support to the wrong people and it usually comes back to bite us in the butt....That would be administrations of BOTH political parties....

I thought it unbelievable when a tiny percentage reduction was made to food stamps - ultra-liberal hypocrites were wailing and gnashing their teeth that conservatives wanted to starve the masses - when the reduction averaged out to a couple bucks. And food stamps is just one benefit, kids still got their free breakfast and lunch at school. Kids should never go hungry and there are alternatives. We were dirt poor growing up but never went hungry either, beans and rice are filling - with a little creativity someone can make a decent meal dirt cheap. But many entitlement hogs are lazy.....
