I'm  hoping she pops up as  my avatar because I couldn't figure out how to post it below. She's nameless thus far-any suggestions?

And is it possible for her to be any cuter?  I don't think so.
She's a Maine Pointer/Blue tick hound mix.

She'll be a good companion for our other dog who is a lab/pit mix.

ok the puppy's name is pepper. now I hear she will undoubtably run away from home one day chasing a squirrel in the woods and we are doomed to lose her. I hate this negativity.Anyone know if it's possible for hound to be happy just in a home with a warm bed and a medium sized yard?

Hi Pepper! This is Buddy, not my Mommy. I saw your picture, so I just had to respond. I'm officially a lab mix, but Daddy just calls me his little pittie.

About getting lost.....my Mommy and Daddy had the doctor put a chip in me so that if I run off a veterinarian can identify me. I have a collar with my Daddy's name and number on it, too.

I would never run away, though. I have a nice, warm bed in our house, and a big back yard to run and play ball in. Mommy takes me for walks and plays ball with me, and Daddy almost always lets me go with him when he is on the road for work. In other words, I get lots and lots of love and attention, and that's all it takes for me to want to stay with my two-leggers furever.

About squirrels and other little critters....make friends of them. I have a friend called Mad Dash, and he's a squirrel. I had a rat friend, but he moved. Or Alice Belle ate him....who knows? Alice Belle has a wicked streak, you know.

Tip: Tear up a couch by hiding your treasures in it. That's what I did. Then, Mommy got the idea of bringing my doggyloo doghouse indoors, 'cause my old crate was broken. Now, I have a Sacred Space inside all my own, and it is loaded with treasures. My favorites are empty one gallon milk jugs.

Pepper, how about joining us on our very own thread? I talk lots with Paige, Soph, Mattie, Budster, and of course PeeWee, who started our thread.

We talk about the good and bad things we do. I still don't understand why eating aluminum foil is a bad thing, but....oh, well.

Oh....and tell your Mommy that if you ever get lost, she needs to contact my Mommy immediately. Mommy works with a group that helps lost pets get home to their people, and they have lots of success stories to tell! This is the web address, if your Mommy ever needs it: https://www.facebook.com/LostAndFoundPetsofPensacola

New puppy Sarge10

We had a basset hound named Sarge and he stayed around the house... mostly.

I remember one time we were out in the woods and we saw a deer down a fresh surveyor's trail. He took off with his nose to the ground down that surveyor's trail. He would hit a stump, roll in a clumsy somersault and get up and keep up the chase, baying as loud as he could.

Hey Buddy.I will join you on that thread and I really appreciate the invite. This is my first full day away from my mommy and I miss her so much. I did meet a new bunch of dogs though and they are all really cool. There are 2 black ones and one that is kind of brown and REALLY BIG. One of the black ones is named Cody and he is some kind of a "rat terrier" or something. I like him best because he is closer to my size and seems to like me better than the other two. The other two seem like they are a little afraid of me. The big brown dog growled at me when I bit his tail real hard today, but the old man who lives in the house yelled some word that sounded like "no" to him and he stopped. I never heard the word "no" before, but every time I pee on that nice soft rug in the living room somebody says it to me real loud and takes me outside. I pretend to pee when I get out there because I think that's what they want me to do, but I really already did it on the rug. I'm pretty fast about that peeing thing. There were four people at the house I moved into yesterday but two of them went home last night and came back early this morning.I like the two that went home last night because they play with me more. They took Cody and the other black dog home with them though and just left me with that giant brown dog that growls when I bite his tail. I slept with him last night but he tries real hard to ignore me. When I got up this morning I ran over to him and bit him on his face real hard and he showed me his teeth but he didn't bite me with them. I hope he will get used to me soon. It seems like he is the one that i have to sleep with at night. I slept real good last night. One of the people that lives in the house let me lay under the covers next to her and I didn't whine or move or anything. I want my people to be happy with me because when I lived with my mom I had to live outside under a big old house and it was COLD out there. I like under the covers better. I'm glad you will be my friend buddy. I'm just starting out and learning what friends are. Until now I just had momma and my sisters. Well, I'm going to sleep some more now. I do a lot of that. Somebody said something about a "vet" tomorrow and I'm not too sure about what that is. I hope they have some treats for me there. I'm just learning what treats are and I do like them.
