There are comprehensive web pages that list phishing expeditions, but I get so many of them, I thought I would start a listing of the ones I/we get.  (Phishing is malware that tries to get your personal information.  Never click on a link to a phishing site or a link in any e-mail.  It might install software on your PC that steals your username and passwords to your banking visits, credit card numbers and visits to other important sites.  Or, it might turn your PC into a robot that sends malicious software or repeatedly queries a web site as part of distributed denial-of-service attack - DDoS attack.)

SITES THAT LOOK LIKE PHISHING BUT PROBABLY AREN'T.

PayPal sends a monthly e-mail where you can log in and check your statement.  Although I have read this is a valid e-mail, I never click on this e-mail just to be safe.

PHISHING E-Mails Verified as Malware

I got two of these today.

This malicious email message has an attachment called VoiceMail.zip, which contains the malicious Trojan horse file VoiceMail.exe. Attempts to open the VoiceMail.exe file will infect your computer with a Trojan horse.

When we scanned the file VoiceMail.exe, the following threats were detected:

Trojan/Win32.Downloader
W32/Trojan.CYNI-5471
TROJ_DLOADR.GAC
Trojan.Win32.A.Bublik.15872.B
Once your computer has become infected with this malicious Trojan horse, the cybercriminals behind this email message will be able to access and take control of your computer remotely from anywhere around the world. They may spy on you, use your computer to commit cybercrimes, or steal your personal and financial information.

Now, if you have already opened this malicious attachment (VoiceMail.exe), please do a full scan of your computer with the antivirus software installed on it. The name of the attachment may change, so be careful when opening email attachments.

Got three of these today and all were summons.  They came from ticket_support.1(at)jonesday.com.  Court summons must be de rigueur today.

And another from Amanda.Washingto(at)natwest.com.  Since that's two from the natwest domain, I'm gonna do a wildcard block on anything from natwest.com.

Edit: And another one from ticket_support.3(at)jonesday.com Time to block jonesday.com.

From ticket_support.2@mwe.com

I did a text search of this message and I see this search embedded "Search for messages from this sender".

I guess they want to get everybody in my inbox, so they can be infected too.

No porn, Ricey. (Well, maybe just a little  Embarassed  But I certainly don't give my e-mail address to sites like that.)

Somebody that I did business with sold my e-mail address and it has obviously been resold and resold amongst the scumbag network, lol.

And back to Costco.  The sender is manager@medlink-uganda.com.  Obviously, he isn't smart enough to spoof his sending address.

Oh, and I just got a "Notice to Appear" in a Houston court, lol.
