| I have tried to run the windows upgrade to 8.1 and it is stuck at 61%. I think their servers are swamped with people wanting to upgrade.
I don't recommend installing the upgrade today. (I might kill the upgrade and do it later if it doesn't look like it is progressing) | |

| Whew! Finally done with the upgrade. This is no minor fix! I have a fast machine and, once downloaded, this installation seemed to take at least an hour! I did a click on the new "Start" button (bottom left of the graphic) and made a screencap of the picklist that comes up when you click on the Start button. It brings up a menu that is very similar to Windows 7 and earlier versions. (shutdown, file explorer, Control Panel, etc.) | |
