The general public is a burden on the White House staff.

On the other hand, lobbyists come bearing gifts and sweetheart deals and promises of lucrative employment after the incumbent is no longer incumbent.

Exactly, for example the big issue now is all the administration "officials" who helped draft the Oblamercare law are making mega money as "consultants" to law firms and big business helping them understand how they can profit off of this monstrosity. This administration is chock full of lying hypocrites starting with the Hypocrite-in-Chief - Oblamer. What a pompous narcissist and brain dead idiots voted for the idiot TWICE! (well there were a bunch who voted for him six times or more but they just didn't understand the rules so they got a free pass....)
