Riceme, I never knew you were a gold digger. |

All of this is painfully true. lol I just filled up my truck and paid $4.18/gal for low octane gasoline. To add insult to injury, I follow the Alaska crude oil pipeline half way to work and back every day. We get lots of Europeans who vacation here during the summer, and I have seen several RVs with European plates on them. They probably ferry them over from Bremerhaven to Montreal then roadtrip as they please. Anyhow, while I was at the fuel station I saw a 90s Unimog w/EU plates that had been converted into an RV... now THAT's my kind of RV!! I've wanted a Unimog for years... not that I would turn it into an rv, but if you're going to have one, that's most assuredly the way to go!

| Oh, sorry. Yeah, the camper looked pretty much exactly like that except it was painted with a beach scene on the sides. I have never wanted a new Unimog (like above), but one of the bitchin old ones. | |

| Reminds me of a military vehicle.
Have you found a gold nugget ever? I think its extremely cool what you do.
I watched a show called Alaskan bush people last night, and I never watch tv. But I saw it and thought of you. Is t really like that up there. Must be hard to live there by yourself. I couldn't do it. You are one strong lady. |

| It is a German military vehicle. No, I have never found a gold nugget. I don't live in the bush, but I think I am the type of person who could do it. | |

| I don't remember the details (too lazy to re-read the article), but the mining machine spit it out as tailings or something... a rock that was in the way. A guy was going through the tailing pile and found it. | |

Some guy on Farmer's Loop Road has six of these parked out front of his property. Umm, I'm not sure that 5-gallon Jerry can of fuel is going to get this guy very far, lol.

More room inside to live when compared to the red thing.

| So I was in a meeting interviewing potential new transportation companies to haul our OTR and ocean freight. This one company comes in and the CEO starts giving us their pitch and refers to Alaska as being "landlocked." At first I thought it was just a slip of the tongue and dismissed it. Alaska has more coastline than all the other states combined. But he keeps saying it. Over and over again. Eventually I have to put my head down so they can't see that I'm laughing. Then he starts referring to the Lower 48 as "North America" and "the U.S." like Alaska's not part of North America or the states... Again, OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
So, lots of things up here are called "Farthest North" this or that. So I keep thinking of Alaska and Canada as being "Farthest North America" or of the Lower 48 as being Middle America. Tolkien would have liked that. lol. And Alaska is just "The State" because we're not exactly United with anyone or anything.
Mr. Transportation CEO needs a geography lesson. :-o

More room inside to live when compared to the red thing. It's a farm tractor! Looks like it would be pretty hard to get it stuck. Here's a proven rough country camper (Unicat):
