| I agree with Teo... to a certain extent.
Our system of government is to elect boobs that go to state and federal legislatures. Their jobs are to satisfy their constituent's (or benefactor's) desires by making laws that... more often than not... restrict our rights and liberties.
Stay vigilant, my friends.

| 69! Yep, 69! That's how many hot dogs Joey Chestnut ate at Nathans at Coney Island. Link We have a wiener. The annual Nathan's hot-dog eating contest was a cake walk for six-time defending champing Joey Chestnut who downed 69 frankfurters and buns in 10 minutes for his seventh consecutive victory. The only competition came from Matt Stonie. The second place finisher consumed 51 dogs and buns at the Coney Island battle of intestinal fortitude. The 210-pound competitive eating titan known as "Jaws" broke his own record of 68 franks, which he set in 2009 and tied again last year. | |

| It's a beautiful day here on the West side of Pensacola. Places East of us are getting hammered with rain, but it hasn't rained a drop since early this morning. 30% blue sky.
I have a few "finale" type firework thingies that should last about a minute, lol. Like the big shows downtown & at the beach, I'm shooting 'em off at 9 pm.

| Oh, I'm so glad you all had good weather! Our weatherman was WRONG because he told us that you all were getting HAMMERED, so you were in my thoughts all day. We are still in the middle of a terrible heatwave, and every single day Weatherman says that "tomorrow it will cool down," but he is a big, fat liar. I have very low tolerance for the heat, so I have been positively miserable (don't ask how I survived Pensacola for seven years, because I do not know). My hippy-dippy sister is visiting from Humboldt, so I enjoyed (aside from the heat) a great day in town with my family at Granny's. Sadly, one of our fireworks misfired and injured / burned four people. That's all I know right now... I found out when I got a news alert when I got home. There will be an update in the paper tomorrow morning. Hopefully they will all be okay. BEAUTIFUL family picture, Joani! | |

| My sons ex had to go to Texas so we were able to have our Grandson and his two sisters for the holidays. He is 15 and they are 11 and 12. It has really been fun. Bike riding, making cakes and cookies, playing the Wii. We have them for 2 more days. I think the plan is to take my Grandson back to Chicago in August. More adventures on tap for today.....................We missed the Wahoo game LOL | |

| It has been raining every day here...sometimes 2 or 3 times a day. Yesterday, it didn't rain until around 8:00 pm. And then it poured for half an hour or so. Highs have been in the high 80s...I love it. I'm just the opposite of you, riceme, I like the hot weather. I do hope you get some cool relief soon, though.
Great photos of the grandkids, Joani!
Hallmark, I'm glad you're having some good times with your grands, too. |
