| When i was doing mapping in Atlanta I ran across streets that ended with Mews, instead of Road, Boulevard, or Street.
I know what Mews means... Do you? I find the definition a little archaic.

| I wish I could remember it. I came across it yesterday and a dim bulb lit up.
It sounds like it is a street for cats, lol.

| I know this is not what you were getting at, but the only definition I know of for MEWS is the Marine Expeditionary Warfare School. | |

| In the olden days, when row houses had stables in the back, there was usually a small street that accessed the stables behind the houses and the houses would front on a main street. The road behind the houses that accessed the stables usually had Mews as part of the name... like Palafox Mews (instead of Palafox Street, or Palafox Road, for instance).
(There wasn't a Palafox Mews... just made that up. Hopefully, I'm able to 'splain it right.)
