| It seems that anybody successful in Pensacola is labeled a good ol' boy and vilified. We have fresh meat... in the name of Joe Abston. According to a PNJ article http://www.pnj.com/article/20130512/BUSINESS/305120023/Palafox-Prince-Restauranteur-leading-street-s-rebirth - Quote :
- By his own single-minded drive and ambition, Abston has become one of the young lions transforming downtown Pensacola’s nightlife and its culinary offerings one restaurant at a time.
“I call him the Prince of Palafox,” said Nick Zangari, owner of New York Nick’s Sports Bar directly across the street from Abston’s flagship restaurant Hopjacks. Joe opened Hopjacks Pizza Kitchen and Taproom on Palafox Place, and last year with the hamburger restaurant Tin Cow, a block down from Hopjacks. His newest venture, 850 Open Water, will be a seafood restaurant at 22 S. Palafox Place, once the site of a pool hall.
I am just kidding about vilifying him. He doesn't seem to be taking advantage of the citizens of Pensacola by taking public land and using it to make them richer... like Ray Russenberger did at the foot of Palafox Street. The jury is still out on Studer making money with his ballpark at the CMP. | |
