Oooh, kitties do things only a mama could be proud of. I actually DID take pictures to post then thought, "You big dummy, no one wants to see dead rodents that Blue Kitty has hauled into your house and half-eaten except you, the proud mama. To everyone else it's just gross. Stick to the story, stupid!"

So the weather has been nice lately, and I've had all the doors and windows open all day, until an hour before dusk when I have to go hunt down Blue Kitty (it seems when she gets skeered-off from some critter, she goes into the garage and hides under my truck, and doesn't come even when I shake her food container. Live and learn). Anyhow, in the last three days I have found 1/ a dead bunny (ya technically not a rodent, I know) on my beautiful gigantor jute rug. Don't worry, she eats what she kills, 2/ I think it used to be a gopher's head, and 3/ a larger gopher, the latter two gratefully on the bamboo floor (how the hell do you disinfect a jute rug that's mmm... 12' x 14' I think??).

I wasn't exactly thrilled about the rabbit because they're not pests, there's a small family of them (smaller as of 3-days ago) that live in the bushes out front of my house and they help to keep the weeds nibbled down. Thankfully, it was a baby and not one of the adults (they seem to be mates). I cringed when I did it, but when I found the rabbit I called her over and said, "Gooood kitty! GOOD kitty!!" I know it sounds crazy to you all, but I don't much mind if she hauls in her kills to brag (it's an animal's nature to want "credit") to mama, I just want her to be a hunter both to keep the damn gopher population around here down and to keep her happy and entertained outside during nice weather.

Here's a sleepy little kitty, after a hard day hunting siwwy wabbits:
